Back to the beginning — Again!
Hello –
It has been a while since I last updated. My life has been a whirlwind! In the past few weeks, so many things have been happening, It’ll be easier to put it in bullet points!!
- Have been re-financing the 2nd mortgage for more improvements to the home
- Have been rounding up contractors to get us bids on what it would cost to do the work
- Have been interviewing like mad to find another job
- Have been doing a lot of volunteer work for the church
- Have been spending a lot of time developing some web pages
- Have been spending a lot of time at work, including the commute!
That’s it in a nutshell, now, here are the results!
- Vangie and I were approved for the refinance and have paid off several bills and are ready to move forward with some renovations in our kitchen. We are planning to
- Replace the cabinets (maple with red-tones)
- Replace the countertop (corian w/light tan and red-tones)
- Replace the flooring (ceramic or stone tile)
- Paint the Kitchen a neutral color to balance the new design.
- Still waiting on bids from the contractors
- I have found a new job. I have given my notice to CACI. It has been fun working there, but I found a challenge better suited to my strengths. I begin work with Keane Federal Systems on November 21, 2005.
- The volunteer work has been awesome. Vangie and I spent a day making pizza and serving pop at King’s Dominion! Altogether, our team made close to $500 for our church!
In addition, I have taken a leadership role in fundraising for the new building we are purchasing.

- In my spare time (not that there’s much of that) I develop some webpages for a non-profit organization, Research!America. I have a great deal of fun because they are growing and present me with challenges that allow me to grow professionally. Here’s my latest fun project for them.
- My commute is shaping up soon! Once I begin work with my new employer, I’ll be slugging everyday!
Randy & Vangie
