Story of the INS Angel |
All day Sunday I was sick to my stomach and was even in tears over this situation. I love my fiancé more than any other person on the face of this earth. I never thought I could love someone so deeply in so little time, but God certainly had His hand in that! (and obviously, by my story, continues to do so!) Moreover, to think I filled out those forms incorrectly, made me think it would be even longer before I would be reunited with the woman whom I love so dearly.

7:30 AM Monday Morning |
I arrive to work early so I can use the typewriter and redo all the forms and am planning on FedExing them out today to get to the INS in the Vermont Service Center (VSC) by tomorrow morning. |
8:00 AM Monday Morning |
I called the INS hotline and waited on hold for only 5 minutes and spoke with a kind representative from the INS (secretary/officer). I explained in detail the situation, for expediency sake, a transcript is offered at the bottom of this email. |
8:10 AM Monday Morning |
After listening to my information, the lady, who shall be called Angel of the INS asked me to simply FAX in the completed, corrected forms; marking AMENDED on top of each form, and that she would personally put them in the file that is sitting on the INS Officer's desk who is reviewing the case. She also TYPED IN THE CORRECTED ADDRESS of my fiancé!!!! While I was on the telephone! |
8:15 AM Monday Morning |
Tears of Joy; Hanging up the telephone. |
8:30 AM Monday Morning |
Completed the new 325-A form for my Fiancé since I had completed mine at 8:00 am. |
8:40 AM Monday Morning |
Created a FAX cover sheet, and what I believe to be, smartly including the "THESE ARE UNALTERED COPIES...." statement from the INS on the FAX cover sheet which included both our EAC# and our names and all the attached forms. |
8:55 AM Monday Morning |
Had said form notarized by notary at my place of employment. |
9:00 AM Monday Morning |
Faxed said sheets to the INS to the attention of INS Angel. Stood by fax machine to make sure all pages sent OK. |
9:15 AM Monday Morning |
Called fiancé and woke her whole family up to tell her the good news. She went back to sleep. |
9:30 AM Monday Morning |
Received call from INS Angel telling me that she had received my fax and had already taken the amended forms to the officer and placed them in the file with a note explaining the situation. She said there should be no problems with this and that if the INS officer has a question, that he would ask her and she would explain to him what happened and that I should receive approval of my application very shortly. |
9:31 AM Monday Morning |
Tears of Happiness, once again. Thank You God for allowing this to happen. For me being able to withstand the pain of separation and the joy of being in a relationship with a wonderful woman. Thank you all for your support. |
The Transcript of the Conversation |
INS ANGEL: |
Hello, INS, how may I be of assistance? |
ME: |
Hello, I have a couple of questions about some forms I recently submitted. |
INS ANGEL: |
Ok, can I have the EAC# on the upper left hand corner of the NOA? |
ME: |
Gave the number. |
INS ANGEL: |
Ok, with whom am I speaking? |
ME: |
Randy Townley |
INS ANGEL: |
Your address Please? |
ME: |
Blah blah.. |
INS ANGEL: |
Ok, what are your questions Randy? |
ME: |
I realized upon closer inspection of the G325A form that
I misinterpreted the form and inadvertently placed my
mother's name in the "wife" section thinking that it was
asking for my "Father's" name above and HIS wife's name
below in that field. |
INS ANGEL: |
Oh, hmm, let me try to find that form and look at it, oh,
here it is. I see, I am not sure what you are going to
have to do at this point. |
ME: |
HEART STOPS; BREATHING STOPS; PALMS SWEAT, NASUEA SETS IN. |
INS ANGEL: |
You are going to have to submit the forms again, and they'll probably run across this during processing and they will
send you back a form for filling it out again. Or, let me
think about this, no, this is what you do: do you have
corrected copies of these forms signed by you and your fiancé? |
ME: |
Yes, Ma'am. |
INS ANGEL: |
Ok, then, why don't you fax them to me at this number, wait, our fax numbers have changed. |
ME: |
Heart sinks again. |
INS ANGEL: |
Ok, here it is, fax me your amended G325A Bio form to this
number: blah blah...and then I will put the amended forms in
your file on the officer's desk who is reviewing your case. |
ME: |
Well, I have one more form that has a discrepancy, my fiancé's address is not correct in any of the fields available. Her
address is 3 miles long and there is only an inch to type it
in there, then I found out that it can be abbreviated. |
INS ANGEL: |
Ok, give me your fiancé's address. |
---- sounds of her typing as I am giving her the correct address ---- |
INS ANGEL: |
Ok, that is done. Anything else? |
ME: |
Yes, should I send you copies of this I129F form since we
have made the changes? Because although you have graciously
changed it electronically, isn't that form going to be sent
to Manila anyway? |
INS ANGEL: |
Yes, go ahead and send that along with your G325A form that
you are going to fax to me. |
ME: |
Should I redo that form as well? |
INS ANGEL: |
No, just hand write it in so that we can see that it has been changed. It wont be a problem. |
ME: |
Ok, I have a couple of other questions about this form,
in the "address abroad" section on the G325A form, for
my fiancé, do I put her address abroad since she lives
abroad? Or what do I fill in there? |
INS ANGEL: |
Well, to be honest, these forms are as hard for me as they
are for you, and I honestly am not sure about that one. |
ME: |
But, in addition, I should place her information down at the
bottom in the applicant section right? |
INS ANGEL: |
Yes, since she is the one who signs off on the form, she
would be considered abroad, you should probably put her
address abroad and anywhere... |
ME: |
Yeah, I guess anywhere it says "APPLICANT" that would
obviously be referring to her! That makes sense, since it
is asking for her address and place of employment for the
last five years. Ok. Can I call you after I fax it to make
sure that you have received it ok? |
INS ANGEL: |
Why don't you give me your telephone number and I will call
you as soon as I have received it and placed it on the
reviewer's desk. |
ME: |
Can I have your name so I can send a letter to the VSC on your
behalf? I really appreciate everything you have done!
I am so excited right now! I will fax this information very
soon. |
INS ANGEL: |
Gives name: And, says thanks! |
ME: |
Ok, thanks INS ANGEL. |
completed paperwork and sent information via fax. |
9:30 AM Monday Morning |
telephone rings - bbbring -- bring.. |
INS ANGEL: |
Hello, Randolph? |
ME: |
Yes? This is he. |
INS ANGEL: |
This is INS ANGEL calling from the INS and I wanted to let you
know that I have received your fax and have placed the
paperwork directly in the file on the reviewer's desk. |
ME: |
Thank you so much! Will this delay the process at all? |
INS ANGEL: |
No, I put all the information in there along with a note from
me explaining the situation. If he has any questions, he will
come to me and I will tell him the details. Your application
should be approved very shortly. |
ME: |
Thank you thank you Thank you thank you Thank you thank you.
You have been a big help and I greatly appreciate it. |
INS ANGEL: |
You are welcome and have a nice day. |
So, all this to say that the Lord really works. I prayed and prayed that the Lord would control this situation and HE has. We all know how the US Govt is, especially the INS. I am extremely grateful that He allowed this to happen. I am so thankful right now. woohoo! There wont be any delay! This is truly God! Noone else could have done this!! Amen! |
